50th Anniversary Ovoid Utensil Jar- Norton Deer
50 Year Anniversary Ovoid Utensil Crock with the classic antique Norton Deer motif.
Our Large Utensil Jar is ideal for storing your kitchen gadgets while beautifying your kitchen. The 50th Anniversary Norton Deer pattern was originally released by Rowe Pottery in the early 1980's, inspired by one of the most highly sought after motifs in antique stoneware. The Norton family began producing stoneware in Bennington VT in the late 1700's, originally crafting utilitarian pieces with little to no deocrations. By the mid 19th century, their work evolved, stonware was no longer purely functional, but a true art form. The introduction of coblat blue designs like this iconic deer motif marked this beautiful transition. Each piece is hand thrown and decorated so slight variations in size and coloring can be expected, hand stamped with our 50 Year anniversary commemorative stamp.
